What paying costs on Solana

The cost question that matters is whether the customer holds SOL at all, since an SPL transfer needs a fee payer. Sponsored fee-payer signing removes that barrier on eligible routes. The customer signs only the USDC transfer, a platform relay funds the fee and broadcasts, and the amount signed matches the quote exactly. Payers who do hold SOL pay their own dust-level fee and never notice it.
