Accept USDT payments
In large parts of the world, USDT is how customers already hold dollars. It is the settlement currency of exchange P2P desks, remittance corridors, and cross-border freelance work, which makes it the request that lands in a merchant's inbox before any other. Accepting it means meeting buyers in the balance they actually keep.
How USDT settles here
Each payment gets its own forwarding address whose destination is fixed to your treasury when the address is created, and where the setup allows it the payment settles into your treasury directly. NoHoldPay's job is narrow: watch the chain, match the transfer to your invoice, and sign the webhook that tells your store it confirmed. Custody never enters the picture. Payments go to an account you own and are matched to the invoice by a per-payment reference, so no forwarding step exists. NoHoldPay reads the ledger, resolves the reference to your invoice, and delivers the signed webhook on confirmation, with your account balance never leaving your control.
| Network | Confirmation rule (live) | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | Payments confirm when the network finalizes the block that contains them. | varies |
| TRON | Payments confirm after 6 confirmations, once the network marks the block solid. | about 18 seconds |
| Solana | Payments are final as soon as the network validates the transaction. There is no reorg window. | a few seconds |
| Polygon | Payments confirm when the network finalizes the block that contains them. | varies |
| BNB Smart Chain | Payments confirm when the network finalizes the block that contains them. | varies |
| TON | Payments are final as soon as the network validates the transaction. There is no reorg window. | a few seconds |
On Solana, customers can pay USDT without holding the network's gas token through gasless checkout.
Why merchants take USDT
USDT buyers rarely need convincing. They already keep savings in it, and many have never held a bank dollar at all. For a merchant this shows up as fewer abandoned checkouts, because the customer is spending the unit they already think in rather than converting anything. NoHoldPay settles each USDT payment to a wallet you control, through an address created for that payment alone, so a customer withdrawing straight from an exchange account can pay without memos or reference codes. The platform fee comes out of a prepaid credit rather than out of the arriving coins, which keeps the amount your customer sent and the amount you receive identical.
Worth knowing
USDT lives on several networks, and the checkout shows the live list so you never have to steer customers yourself. The buyer picks a network and gets an address valid for that network only, which cuts down the classic wrong-network support ticket. On smart-contract networks that address is a per-payment forwarder fixed to your treasury, and the downloadable Recovery Kit can re-derive every forwarder offline. USDT has no gasless authorization standard on EVM networks, so buyers there pay gas as usual, while on Solana sponsored fee-payer signing can cover an SPL USDT payment for a buyer holding no SOL.
The platform fee is 0.5% per confirmed payment, prepaid. New accounts start with $50 of live credit, covering roughly the first $10,000 processed. Checkout ships hosted, or through the WooCommerce and OpenCart plugins.
Common questions
- Can customers pay USDT straight from an exchange account?
- Yes. Every payment gets its own deposit address, so an exchange withdrawal is matched the same way a wallet transfer is, with nothing extra to type into the withdrawal form. The buyer should withdraw on the network selected at checkout, since the address belongs to that network alone.
- My buyers use different networks for USDT. Do I have to pick one?
- No. You enable the networks you want to receive on, and the checkout lists whichever are live. The buyer chooses, and the page derives an address valid only for that choice. The customer who always uses the same network and the one paying from an exchange each see their own path.
- Do I have to keep the USDT I receive?
- No. Settlement lands in a wallet you control and NoHoldPay never takes custody, so holding it, swapping it, or paying suppliers onward in USDT is entirely your call. There is no withdrawal step and no payout schedule, because the money was never anywhere else to begin with.
- Is USDT a good fit for billing overseas clients?
- It is often the reason merchants arrive here. Clients abroad who already hold USDT can pay a hosted checkout page without a bank in the loop. The amount is agreed up front, the client sends the token, and the funds appear in a wallet you hold the keys to.
